Really want this year to bea more productive organized one. I am staying more on top of the organization and keeping house in better order.
Here it is the end of January already. my resolutions aren't going bad but not making the best headway either. I am trying, however, as usual things are getting in my way. 1st of the weather had been nasty, I hate winter, tax season is upon us,busy busy, and several Un expected financial issues, not really new they happen frequently. I do however need to kick it up a notch.

Well here I am again...It's been April since I posted. Some great blogger I am!
Don't get me wrong I would love to figure this out and make this really cool blog that people would love to read. I do have, believe it or not some really interesting info to share. Just can't seem to stay focused on keeping up. Well the New Year is here 2016..Wow I know everyone says this but...WOW! I read on FB that inn 4 years the 90's will be 30 years ago. This seemed almost unreal to me. I have made my Resolutions. It took me a day or two to get them written down and fine tuned. Yes I did say them. I really would like to see myself writing more here but just haven't gotten the hang of it. I would like to figure out the blog "thing" a little better but just haven't had time to figure all the "ins" and "outs" of it yet. One area I am looking out now is how to categorize my blogs so if someone was interested in say my knitting blogs they would go and click on that link.
Spring is finally here Yeah! I am so thrilled to see the green. It seems like it happened over night :-). I also, of course, am enjoying the warmer days! No more wearing 5 layers of clothes to stay warm with the cold wind and no more heavy coats. I just need to find the time to pack away the coats and cold weather clothing. I remodeled my closets this fall so this would be easier done but as of yet still don't have time to make those changes. LOL. I haven't been able to implement those easy closet changes in the kids rooms yet though. Emily has a tendancy to pull out anything and everything at her disposal clothing wise if she has access to it and I end up with a floor full of tank tops when it's 25 degrees outside. So even though her closet has a redo i keep her seasonal clothes away from her room. Boys on the other hand don't have a closet redo yet so I still have to pull them out. Not going to procrastinate to long though it becomes a horrible chore if i wait until May to do this. Hoping to do this next week. Fingers crossed.!!! My knitting once again has been placed on hold with only intermittent knitting going on. I really think Eva will get her blanket when she goes to college!! I am also wanting to step up to doing some sewing again. Yes I know WHEN but i have been itching to do some projects. My mom's house is still for sale. We have now turned it over to a realtor so I don't have to do ANYTHING!!! They are great people, we found the right fit that is for sure. Okay that is my update for the moment! Will try to be more dutiful. Queenie Well this hasn't worked out as well as I had planned. LOL. Trying to write each day is too much of requirement I think. I have however kept up with most of my other resolutions. I am working on my knitted boot cuffs. Still working on them anyhow. I will post a picture as soon as they are done. I had to research and find a fairly easy one and did so. I really like the pattern but I have had to restart again several times due to either someone getting ahold of it and messing up the stitches or myself messing up the row and it didn't look right and had to take it out. Finally I have figured out how to back out of it and pick up in the right spot. I'm still so new to knitting. They are going to be really nice looking though I think when done. I am also still reading daily. The book I am reading now is another Maeve Binchy book A Week in Winter. It is very good so far. I just love her books. I am so sorry that there won't be anymore since she has passed away.
I am also waiting to read the new Jan Karon book; Somewhere Safe With Someone Good. I love my kindle and don't know what I would do without the ease of taking it with me everywhere to read my books. 2015 is now here! A friend's new year resolution on fb was to attend to her blog regularly. She even went to the extreme as setting a notification to remind her to blog. I am going to do the same. Fingers crossed.
2014 has been a good year...A rough year...A stressful year....A tiring year. Really planning on making this year better. I have been making resolutions for years now some I keep some I don't. I learned a long time ago to keep them attainable and few. Last year only one followed me throughout the year. This year Morris and I made 2 together. I have made a few personal ones, one of which I have been making for several years now and haven't been able to keep it going. It is a financial one and I am VERY determined to make progress with it this year. I am going to try to add a few new pages this year to my website with interesting new ideas. besides keeping my blog updated. One of my new adventures this year is that I am going to start raising and selling baby chickens. Really excited about this new adventure. I won't begin until late spring due to work and I want it to be warmer while I am doing it. Stay tuned with my progress. Everyone have a great New Year and stay tuned. Queenie hi everyone, I'm really sad to say this but summer is quickly coming to an end. all the schools in our area are back in session which says to me winter is on its way. ugh. for those of you who know me winter is dreaded. On the brighter side, kids are all back in school, everyone loves their teacher. I am really trying to get caught up. summer break ended way too soon for me, my projects are not even near being done. Moms house isn't even empty yet or sold. We do have a potential buyer but haven't heard as to whether he is serious or not. Really looking forward to finishing up her house and closing that chapter of our lives. Sub teaching full time isn't even an option until her house is sold and closed on. So I guess it will be a few months before I really can get back into the swing of teaching again. Hopefully by that time I will also have the many projects I have been working on at least caught up. Time to say goodbye for now as I've said before I will try and post a little sooner have really come up with an idea better for this site and going to start working towards that in the next few months that's one of my many projects
Hello Everyone! As you can see by the title today is my birthday! It sure has been along time since I posted. A lot has been going on here at the Jeffries farm. In November we decided to build Mother-in-Law quarters out of my old shop "Queenies Joy" for my mother. Her health is okay but she has heart problems and it is difficult for me in my busy life to be there all the time to check on her. She only lives 20 miles away but it might as well be thousands when I can't get there and she has fallen. We began remodeling of the newly built building (after the fire) in January and after MANY bumps in the road it was finished the first of June. She began living there then. It has taken her awhile to get adjusted to not being a block from Walmart, 2 blocks from McD's etc. but I think she is beginning to like it here on the farm. However we are still sifting thru the 45 years of accumulation in her old house. We are making major progress but boy has it been a chore. She just recently made it back to the house since her fall in early April and found her house not "exactly" in the order she had left it. We have moved out furniture and many other things but she took it pretty good. Her new smaller house is really neat and she is really enjoying decorating it with my sister in law. I had so hoped to have it finished and sold by the time school started but it isn't looking too promising. :-( Work will be starting late for me this year I have a feeling. Plus, on top of Grandma moving in we have a new little guy with us. He is such a sweety. "Boo-Boo" is what we call him he is 10 months old and has been with us since April. He just started walking and the kids are really enjoying watching him learn day by day. Well to everyone please keep updated. I am going to download the new app for my cell and with my new carrier I am hoping to blog more often. Stay tuned!
Queenie Good Morning everyone! Well I have some exciting news! M & B Merchantile an awesome shop with tons of great treasures has agreed to having my dryer babies sold in their store. Yeah! I am working now on getting my yarn and making my sign to go on the tub they will be sold in. Many things to do to get this up and going. Really excited though. I have really been happy with the results of my dryer balls. If you haven't tried them yet let me know. They have worked great on static on my clothes. I hate static GRRRR. Anna says she has noticed that they pick the dog hair from Bruce off her clothes better than just the lint trap. The smell is awesome. I need to find a vendor for more scents that don't cost an arm and a leg. Well better get back to cleaning still working on getting the house cleaned up. Ugh sure wish it just cleaned itself. LOL!
Queenie Hi Everyone hope it is a great Tuesday for you all! I just wanted to share my newest venture with everyone. Dryer Babies. I have decided to start making and selling my wool dryer balls. These are so awesome! Not only do they save you money on utilities (cut drying time 25%) they also save you from buying (never run out) dryer sheets or fabric softener again. They last 5 years...wow! They are also hypo-allergenic, natural and eco-friendly. Perfect for those of you using cloth diapers. Check out my new page and get basic and ordering information! Let me here from you all on what you think after you try them. The more you use the better they work!
Queenie Good Morning everyone! Been a pretty productive morning so far. Headed to school to substitute teach today for half of a day. 5th graders this afternoon. Such a busy week this week many appointments. Going to run to the post office on my way to school to ship an eBay package.. Nice to see that things are selling pretty good. We all worked on Emily & Franks school valentines day boxes last night. Jed really wasn't much help but he sure did a good job of swiping the tape and glue! :-) Emily's box is a red ipod and franks is a striped monster. Will try to post pictures tonight. Emily's needs a few more things but Frank's is done. They both seemed to be pretty happy with them. Tomorrow is their Valentines Parties since there isn't any school on Thursday or Friday here. Well better hush and get to the post office so I can get to school on time.
Queenie As promised here is Emily & Frank's Valentines Day Boxes. I thought they did a great job. |
